DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) is a medical imaging procedure offered at Vision Imaging of Kingston that takes an enhanced X-ray image of the skeleton in order to provide the most accurate measurements of bone density available in an individual. Bone density tests are used to determine whether patients have osteoporosis, a condition in which bones are weakened and fracture easily. If you feel as though you may be at risk for osteoporosis, you may want to consider having a DEXA scan soon.
